Stew DeVilbiss
Chief Engineer
Dr. Stew DeVilbiss joined Matrix Research in 2024, where he develops Kalman filter based solutions for precise position and time in support of novel RF applications.
Stew served the Air Force for 37 years, 20 in uniform and 17 as civil servant, with a focus on navigation and timing technologies. Stew’s career in uniform included assignments as an assistant professor at AFIT, GPS operational test director for space and control segments, and HQ Air Combat’s combat ID technologies program element monitor and navigation warfare requirements action officer. As a civilian, he served AFRL in roles as the spectrum warfare core technical competency lead and the navigation branch technical advisor. Stew earned a BS from the University of Missouri, an MS from Purdue, and a PhD from Ohio State, each in Electrical Engineering.
